Outstanding Italian cusine. Very pricey but worth it. The veal parmigiana (not sure they called it that, however) was the best ever! Lots of choices for pasta, fish and steaks...multi bene! Reservations recommended. On Washington a few blocks South of Hwy 111. Closed Monday and Tuesday during the Summer. Happy Hour starts at 4 PM. Offers a family style dinner from 4:30 to 6:30.

Lots of fun and good food. Not fancy, but lives up to Arnie's reputation. Steaks, ribs and fish dishes. Great bar scene with live music on the weekends. Try the putting course while your waiting. Bar opens at 3 pm, dinner at 5 pm. Look for lower prices this summer. In LaQuinta...Washington south to the end (Avenue 52) turn right...Palmer's is a block or two down on the right.

Hurray!!! Murph's, a desert tradition for over 30 years in Bermuda Dunes, has opened a second restaurant. The new Murph's is located in Palm Desert on 111 between Sage and Monterey on the south side of the street (that's the mountain side for strangers). Down home fried chicken and all of the right stuff to go with it.

Papa Dans
Long time desert pizza champ, Papa Dan's, has opened a new restaurant in LaQuinta....111 East to Dune Palms. turn North and pull in...it's back there somewhere....lives up to the reputation. Had some good food and drinks, very casual, light Italian/pizza etc. Left at 9pm and they were still waiting at the door. Looks like a good spot to take the grandkids...lots of young families. Reasonably priced.
